Does your hotel have air-conditioning?

A simple question, but there are numerous Five Star hotels in Europe that would respond to this question with "No"-or-"Not all the time."

Indeed, there are countless questions that speak to the quality experience that a hotel may offer. Unfortunately, hotels aren't often asked these questions.

GLL members' interests are extremely diverse and would not be satisfied by a traditional hotel-style questionnaire. GLL's questionnaire was developed by Bob Evans, former President of Paramount Studios, who based our unique questionnaire on his knowledge of the special needs and requirements of celebrities on location shoots and vacations.

To meet GLL member standards-the highest of world travelers-hotel services are reviewed for conveniences such as availability and number of butlers, packing and unpacking service, the quality of the concierge service, the availability of flower shops, spas, 24-hour room service, and the comfort of guest rooms.

Room amenities are rated on features such as brand of mattresses, type and quality of linens and pillows, as well as the quality of the multimedia entertainment system area. The hotel's proximity to shopping, a helicopter pad, beaches, golf, skiing and tennis are also taken into consideration. Hotel facilities are rated on rooms and suites and the pool area.

The hotels that are rated the highest on 55 different services, indulgences and luxury features that provide guests with a truly luxury experience, receive The GLL Platinum Award-our highest award.

Global Luxury Living's Platinum Award hotels may not be consistent with the top rated hotels in travel books because we rate hotels on 55 specific points.
